BROKER OF THE MONTH
Karen's returned to employment as well, becoming legal assistant to Pamela Kingsley.  Pamela, who is now a shareholder with Tiffany & Bosco, P.A., believes the same characteristics demonstrated by Karen naturally in the leal environment benefit her present-day clients as well:  Karen's effortless professionalism and unflagging dedication under the stresses of a litigation practice were excellent.  I could give odds and still win any bet that not one of Karen's real estate clients knows one-tenth of all she has done towards making that client's purchase or sale an unquald sccess.

When it came time for my husband and me to purchase a new home, Pamela continues, it just made sense to get Marv involved.  After vetoing, a few of our finds, he enthusiastically approved the home we ultimately bought.  He negotiated a better price than we had expected, and made all but the move itself as easy as it could be.  Then, he went on to pass the ultimate test with flying colors - clinching a deal on a home for my mother-in-law!

In 1995, Karen joined Marv as a partner and went into real estate full-time.  How do they see thir various strengths?  She's the warm and cuddly one; I'm the analytical hammered negotiator, jokes Mav.  The two divide many tasks.  Karen handles most of the showings and the client follow up.  Marv kicks in at the contract stage, taking it through escrow to close.  We work listings together, says Karen, and byrs separately.&nbp;&bp;Some people gravitate to me and some to him.

Glenn Melton, COO of Realty Executives International, and his wife, Sue, were referred to Marv and Karen in November 2002.  We were moving back to the Valley from San Francisco, explains Glenn.  From the beginning, Marv and Karen treated us like friends and family.  We genuinely felt they understood exactly what we were looking for and filtered homes for us, both as insightful advisors and as we would expect from lifelong friends.  After the closing, we continued our relationship as friends, with th bonus of being able to call on them for real estate advice and guidance.
We are going a bit out of the way in complimenting Marv and Karen, Glenn shares, because of my wife's experience during 18 business-related relocations in different parts of the country.  Those experiences, in so far as they involved the direct services of a REALTOR®, were distinctly average or worse.  Marv and Karen are, in our opi, ral benchmarks of the level of professional and service that career REALTORS® should model.

The Meltons were great to work with, Karen comments.  We found the perfect house on their first trip in.  The timing didn't work out perfectly, and Glenn needed a rental for a short time.  Because Glenn already had returned to California, I found a rental for him which he took sight unseen based on his confidence in us as a team.  As is the case with most REALTORS®, the majority of the Leff's business has developed through their business and social acquaintances.  Marv's fist sale stemmed from a friendship that had grown at the Spa at Camelback Inn, where they had been longtime members.  When a spa member mentioned he was looking for a home, Marv got busy and found the right property located in Finisterre.  Negotiations were complicated, with a very seasoned REALTOR® repesenting the seller.
